New Orleans Saints - Home Stadiums

Fall 2022: To purchase a reasonably priced 8" x 24" plaqued mounted version of the Saints poster that's ready to hang on your wall, please visit Heritage Sports Stuff.

A. The New Orleans Saints franchise was established in 1967. The team has always been known as the New Orleans Saints.

B. The Saints have played in the following home stadiums:
1. Tulane Stadium, New Orleans

2. Louisiana Superdome (1975 - 2011) / Mercedes Benz Superdome (2011 - 2020) / Caesars Superdome (2021 - Present), New Orleans
1975-2004 + 2006-Present

Because of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, in 2005 the Saints' eight home games were split among three locations:

3. Giants Stadium, East Rutherford NJ
1 game: Sept 19, 2005

4. Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge LA
3 games in 2005: October 2, October 16 and December 24

5. Alamo Dome, San Antonio TX
4 games in 2005: October 30, November 6, December 4, December 18

6. Louisiana Superdome (1975 - 2011) / Mercedes Benz Superdome (2011-20) / Caesars Superdome (2021-Present), New Orleans
1975-2004 + 2006-Present

C. For more information on the Saints, you should bookmark these four great websites:

For a huge amount of great historic player and team information:

For a great summary of the Saints' year by year standings:

For great information about the team's stadiums (don't be fooled by the fact that the website is called "", it also has great information on football stadiums):

D. Celebrate the Saints' uniform history by owning a piece of history:
If you love the New Orleans Saints and the history of the Saints franchise, you might really love to own an original piece of artwork celebrating the team's historic uniforms as seen in the poster at the top of this blog - you can actually own one of those original pieces of art! There are only 13 pieces of original art available for sale, and when these 13 are sold, that's it, they're all sold out.

These original watercolor paintings would make a great gift (birthday gift, anniversary gift, retirement gift, Christmas gift, etc.) for someone you love or even a great gift for yourself (one of these framed pieces would look fantastic in your home or office). Each piece can be bought one of three ways:
1. As unframed art that you could have framed or mounted yourself (the one on the left)
2. Framed in our "Classic" framed version (the middle version)
3. Framed in our "Deluxe" framed version (the version on the right)

If you would like more information about this great artwork including the three ways you could purchase each piece, please visit our New Orleans Saints YouTube video at or go directly to the artwork website where you can see and purchase the artwork.

And if someone you know loves the history of sports uniforms (but maybe another team) and loves great art, please let them know that we have over 1500 pieces of great original artwork for sale at (all NFL teams, all MLB teams, all NHL teams, all CFL teams, select NCAA football teams) or check out each team's video at the Heritage Sports Art YouTube Channel

E. Stadium artwork
Please note that the actual original, hand drawn pen and ink sketches used for the 2 stadium images shown above are available for sale as a complete collection to one New Orleans Saints fan. Please note that we have not yet drawn the two stadiums used in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina (Tiger Stadium and Alamodome), but we would be happy to if you are interested). If you are interested in being the owner of this complete and original collection of New Orleans Saints home stadium images, please contact me by email and I can explain how they can all be framed in one beautiful piece.

And please search my blog archive for other blogs on the history of the Saints.
