1. Atlanta Braves – The Team Name
This franchise was established in 1876. The team has been known by a number of names as follows:
Boston NL Team 1876 - 1882 (see below re NOT Red Caps)
Boston Beaneaters (and sometimes Nationals but never officially) 1883 - 1906
